Choosing a grill

With all the different styles of grills on the market, it can be difficult to find the perfect one. With a little planning, you can narrow down your search and quickly find the right grill for your lifestyle. Things to consider:

Size –If you enjoy cooking for a lot of people, you want a grill with a large cooking surface area. On the other hand, you’ll want a smaller cooking surface if you usually cook for two. For versatility you may want a number of burners that you can adjust according to how much food you will be cooking. 

BTU Output – BTU stands for British Thermal Unit. It measures how much heat a grill can put out per hour. The higher the BTU, the better the grill will perform. 

Type of Grill to Get?

Charcoal Grill – Generally offer a more smoked flavor than a gas grill. You should plan on 20-30 minutes from the time you light the charcoal until you are ready to grill. 

Gas Grill – Offer good flavor, versatility and convenience. Gas grills can have rotisseries, side burners and many other special features. The great thing about a gas grill is that you can easily light it and have it heated up for cooking in about 10 minutes.

Smoker – Generally take a longer cooking time when compared to charcoal or gas. Smokers produce a deep smoky flavor to foods.
